Ashoka is the world’s leading association of social entrepreneurs, who are creating changing solutions to the world’s most urgent social problems. Ashoka invests in people. Its programs are designed to support social entrepreneurs, over 2,000 of them since 1982, at three levels: Individual, group and by developing the infrastructure for the citizen sector. Ashoka was founded by Bill Drayton and has at its core the premise that the single most effective way to promote positive social change, is by integrally supporting social entrepreneurs with innovative solutions that are sustainable and replicable, nationally and globally. Ashoka’s Fellows work in over 60 countries, in every area of human need and are selected through a rigorous process to ensure they meet Ashoka’s Criteria.
