The Earth Charter Initiative is a global movement whose mission is to “promote the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.” The website gives you the opportunity to get familiar with the Earth Charter and track what is being done around the globe. The interactive map allows you to click anywhere and see the activity happening in that area. Besides donating or volunteering, there are numerous ways to get involved including putting together a project or action group, collaborating with Earth Charter partners and affiliates, and participating with different educational programs. So, take the time to read the charter, know the charter, and then find ways to help the charter; it helps all of us.
